Miriam Rushworth
For nearly thirty years as Joint Principal, Miriam has dedicated herself to sharing her love of dance, her passion for hard work, and her unwavering commitment to bringing out the best in every student, young or old. Her drive to help students succeed at every level has shaped the ethos of RBS. She works to instil the same determination and self-belief in her dancers, nurturing quiet confidence alongside intelligent, thoughtful musical and emotional responses to performance. She takes great pride in contributing to the warm, supportive student environment that is so unique to RBS.
Miriam trained at Elmhurst Ballet School before completing her vocational training at the College of The Royal Academy of Dance. She established RBS in 1996 with Rebecca Chalklin. Miriam was appointed to the RAD Board of examiners in 2007 and has since examined across the United Kingdom and overseas.
Miriam regards her nineteen years as an examiner for the Royal Academy of Dance as a true gift. The breadth of experience it has given her continues to inform and elevate her teaching year after year.
BA Hons (Dunelm), LRAD, ISTD Dip. Examiner for the Royal Academy of Dance.
